We have been talking about getting marrried for years, and Val has even proposed to Sue several times. The answer was always yes. We just didn't believe it would ever happen. We were planning to move to MA where the kids live, and didn't ge married so Val could qualify for a house. However we realized this past fall that we can't afford to live there, even with a subsidized house. We decided to get married during our holiday visit to Alia and Brian and Nick and children.

We arranged for a Justice of the Peace to marry us and applied for the license. On New Year's Eve we went to Sue Anderson, the JP"s house for the ceremony. The family came along. It was a lovely ceremony, better than we expected. It meant a lot to us that this was for real.The support of our families was wonderful, present or not.
