Moving to Arizona together in 2008 was the start of what has become a fairytale relationship.  Sitting in the hot tub each Friday evening and catching up from the week apart became a routine.  By the time Karen was home from the airport, dinner was waiting and after eating, we would retire to the hot tub to reconnect under the stars.  Each night during the winter months we would comment on how bright the stars were.

One Friday evening, it was time to retreat to the hot tub.  This night was different.  It was a little cooler and a little darker due to the rare clouds that had moved in...nothing a few candles around the hot tub couldn't resolve.  So in the midst of catching up we noticed that our favorite star was missing.  I told Karen I promised that one day I would pull that shiny star out of the sky and give it to her as a sign of my love. 

Since the star was not visible, I turnerd Karen toward me and I said I know why we can't see the star.  We couldn't see it because it was gone.  It was gone because it is right here.  Thats when I opened the ring box.  I told her I promised to get that star from the sky and give it to her.  I told her I loved her and asked if she would marry me.  I will never forget the look of the candles in the background twinkling off of her gorgeous blue eyes.
