It was a warm Memorial Day cookout somewhere in Indiana. Tammy went to the cookout, reluctantly, because she knew no one. She had nothing in common with any of the strangers and thought the afternoon and evening would drag on forever. Suddenly that changed.
Having no idea what this afternoon had in store for her, Karen rode up to the picnic on her Harley. The rumbling of the bike resonated throughout the neighborhood. Before she came out onto the deck to the party, Karen changed into sandals, cargo shorts and a multi-colored green Harley tank top.
The moment Karen exited the house and stepped on the deck, Tammy knew that her life was about to change...for the better. Tammy knew she had just laid eyes on the person she was going to spend her life with.
Tammy and Karen began talking and realized they were both working at the same hospital with nothing but a sheet of drywall between them....for a year. In mid June Tammy took a 2 week motorcycle trip from Indiana to Montana. Before leaving however, Tammy set the bait. Tammy invited Karen on a motorcycle trip to West Virginia in July.
It was July 4. Tammy was sitting on a concrete wall in Cheyenne WY enjoying a beer and watching fireworks while thinking about what may be waiting for her at home. Once the finale of flashes and booms Tammy went to her room where she discovered she had a missed telephone call. The caller left a message. "Hi Tammy, this is Karen. If there is still enough open spots for the West Virginia trip I would like to go with you. Please give me a call." Tammy was feeling like the fireworks she had just witnessed outside were going off in her head and chest. Tammy ended her evening by spinning the reel of a fake fishing pole and with a smile on her face. (insert sound of fishing reel here)
In July 2006 Karen and Tammy took their first motorcycle trip together. The sparks and tension was there and undeniable. In August another motorcycle trip, more flirting and tension. In September another trip. In December, a trip to St. Maarten. In little over a year they realized they had found what they were meant to find....each other.
Roughly a year later, they officially began their lives together as a couple and haven't looked back....and never will.
