Here is a picture of me with my twin sister Ellen. She lives in Washington State, on San Juan Island. It is a long trip for us to get together, but we talk on the phone, text, and email often. Being a twin has been great for us in many ways, not the least of which is that she was my donor when I needed a stem cell transplant two years ago. Ellen and her spouse Judy were married last July. We had a big fun family reunion there.

I have two children, now grown, and three grandkids that I share with Val. Daughter Alia is a computer engineer while her husband Brian edits science fiction anthologies and takes care of the children. Son Nick lives downstairs from them, and is working with a friend on a fancy fountain pen to sell on Kickstarter. They will all be at the wedding.

For those who might not know, I was a Registered Nurse for 30 years, went back to school and became an acupuncturist. I set up my practice here in Sylva, NC. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma after four years and had to stop working. Val took wonderful care of me. I am now in remission since the transplant.

This is a picture of me on a camping trip with my sister Cheryl. The whole family came, brothers, nieces and nephews, etc. We went to a campground in TN where everyone camped next to each other, except for my parents, who went to a hotel.

I was born in the deep south, but as the daughter of a career Air Force Officer, I have moved A LOT. I’ve lived in 10 different states and in 3 countries. My career included both school and public health education. I am now retired and very happily settled in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, the place I promised myself I could return to. I enjoy our quiet existence on our little 2 acres. I enjoy camping, gardening, bridge, online gaming, our UU church, family, and Olivia cruises.
